At RideMaxim - Ride to Adventure we have been collecting and answering your questions about the rides, the program and the rules. We have posted our answers to this FAQ page. Please read the most frequently asked questions about RideMaxim below and if you don't see your question answered please feel free to email us at james@ridetoadventure.com or jonathan@ridetoadventure.com

Question:
What is RideMaxim ?

Answer:
RideMaxim was conceived as a fun way to get riders out, using their motorcycle, by offering prizes to individual riders that complete specific events, rides and challenges.

Question:
How can I join up and what does it cost?

Answer:
RideMaxim is free. Just register at http://www.ridemaxim.com or ask one of the friendly folks at Maxim Honda..

Question:
How do I submit proof that I have made a ride or that I have completed a rider challenge?

Answer:
When you log in to RideMaxim, go to "Rides" and click on the ride you have completed. The Ride detail page will appear and that the bottom of that page is a small link that says "Register." When you click that link you will be give an opportunity to upload your trip pictures and leave notes about your ride. You might want list specific places you
visited and list specific dates.

Question:
I read something on the site about receiving an "official riders packet" which I have not received yet?

Answer:
The packet was originally conceived before we had most of the web site in place as a way of getting the ride information to registered riders. Now we are explaining the program in detail on the web site and the emailed or hard copy ride packet is no longer necessary.

Question:
I am confused about registration. Do I download and print out a hardcopy, sign it and turn it into Maxim Honda or do I just register online at the link in the left hand column?

Answer:
Both are viable options but once again the hardcopy form was originally conceived before we had most of the web site in place. If you register online, please, once you have logged in, go to your "manage profile" and fill out the information requested like the type of bike you have, the mileage and your rider's license number. We also need your mailing address and phone number in case we need to contact you. (Don't worry, we won't send you junk mail.)

Question:
About 98% of the time I go out riding by myself and your rules state that pictures should have BOTH you and your bike in them. I think you see my dilemma here. Can't be in the pic if I'm the one taking it.

Answer:
All you need is a camera or camera phone shot, taken at arm’s length, that catches part of the bike, part of the rider (you) and part of the background. The alternative to this is to have some passerby shoot you and your bike. The goal in all this is to gain a number of snap shots that show you and your bike out having fun as well as documenting the trip. Having just your bike in the shot is good too if that is all you have. We are trying to be as flexible as possible. We just need some type of proof that you were there with your ride.

Question:
I know of a great place to ride that is full of beautiful hills, curvy roads and it really close to Dallas. How can I submit this ride for addition into the "Rides" page?

Answer:
Submit ride suggestions by email to james@ridetoadventure.com.

Question:
The points for the rides I have completed do not add up to the points I have registered. How come I am not seeing all the points?

Answer:
As RideMaxim - Ride to Adventure administrators, we look at the ride data that has been post and we either approve the ride or we contact you with questions about what you have posted. This can take a few hours or a few days, depending on when we can review all the postings we have received.

Question:
Can I ride one of the rides a second time?

Answer:
If you enjoyed the ride and want to do the ride again, sure it counts. Just make sure that you document the dates with a gas receipt or dated photograph to show that it was a second ride.

Question:
I just signed up for the Ride to Adventure program, and I was wondering. Do the rides listed have to be made after signing up, or can we submit info., dates of ride and pics for previous rides to these locations?

Answer:
It seems only fair to limit rides to the time frame of the event. The first session of RideMaxim – Ride to Adventure will run from April 4, 2009 to June 27, 2009. Any ride taken before April 4th will not be eligible. If you registered late, you can still use the rides you have taken to gain points as long as you have the proper documentation and as long as they are taken within the time frame of the event.
